"Jesus’ incarnation changes everything. It changed everything for the people of Israel, it changed everything for John, and it should change everything for us: how we see, how we hear, what we expect, what we think about; and it should then change how we speak and act."

This past Sunday, Pastor Nikki preached about Faithful Politics. She said: "To resign and say that we do not want to talk about politics is to miss the point that power exists all around us. We are called to use our power for good things. We are called to partake in the Kingdom of God here on Earth and that means we have to engage in the politics all around us; but the hard part is to do that faithfully. If we are going to engage in politics faithfully and in every aspect of our lives with our words, then we have to see what unites us as being greater than what tries to divide us. We have to believe that grace is greater than sin, that love and not fear wins in the end, and we have to believe that our shared story, that being part of the family of God, comes before any other title that we put over ourselves." Join us for worship Sunday at 8:45 where Nikki will finish up the Powerful Words series with "The Word Became Flesh." See you there!
